Privacy Policy

How DevBox Tools handles your data. The short version: what you type into a tool never leaves your browser, and nothing else happens without your say-so.

Last updated: 16 August 2026

1. Who is responsible

DevBox Tools is operated by an individual. For any question about this policy, or to exercise the rights described below, email contact@timfx1.dev.

2. What the tools do with your input

Nothing leaves your device. The tools are client-side JavaScript: your browser downloads the page, and all processing happens in the tab. Specifically:

  • Nothing you type or paste is uploaded, logged, or stored.
  • Nothing is written to your device either, beyond the two small preferences listed in section 4.
  • There are no accounts, so there is nothing to sign in to.

You can confirm this yourself: open your browser’s network tab while using a tool, or disconnect from the network and keep working.

3. Server logs

This site is served by a hosting provider that, like all web hosts, records technical request data — IP address, timestamp, requested URL, user agent — for delivery, security and abuse prevention. This is processed on the basis of legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) in operating a secure website, and is retained only briefly by the provider. It is not combined with anything else and is not used to build a profile of you.

4. Storage on your device

The site sets no tracking cookies. It stores two items in your browser’s local storage, both of which are settings rather than identifiers:

KeyPurposeBasis
devbox.themeRemembers whether you chose the light or dark theme.Strictly necessary for a preference you set yourself.
devbox.consentRecords your answer to the consent banner, so you are not asked again.Strictly necessary to honour your choice.

Neither contains a user ID and neither is transmitted anywhere. Clearing your browser storage removes both.

5. Analytics — only with your consent

If you consent to analytics, the site loads a privacy-focused analytics script that counts page views and which tools are used. It is cookie-free, collects no cross-site history, and builds no personal profile.

The events recorded are: a tool page loading, a tool being used, a result being produced (and whether it was valid), a copy button being clicked, and a share button being clicked. Each carries only the name of the tool involved. Your actual input is never attached to an event — the code that sends events cannot accept it.

Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). If you decline, no analytics script is loaded at all.

6. Advertising — only with your consent

If you consent to advertising, the site loads Google AdSense. Google may then set cookies or read device identifiers to deliver and measure ads, and acts as an independent controller for that processing. Its practices are described in Google’s privacy and terms, and you can manage ad personalisation at Google Ad Settings.

Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). If you decline, no advertising script is loaded and no ad appears anywhere on the site. Every tool continues to work exactly as before, and you will not be asked again or shown a notice about your ad-blocker.

7. Your choices

Analytics and advertising are separate decisions and neither implies the other. You can change or withdraw either at any time — withdrawal is as easy as granting, and takes effect immediately.

8. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability, and objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

In practice these are close to trivial to satisfy here, because this site holds no personal data about you on any server. The data that exists is in your own browser and you can delete it yourself by clearing site data. For anything else, email contact@timfx1.dev.

9. Children

The site is aimed at software developers and is not directed at children. It knowingly collects no data from anyone.

10. External links

Some pages link to documentation and specifications on other sites. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and this one does not apply to them.

11. Changes to this policy

If what is collected changes materially, the consent record is invalidated and you will be asked again rather than silently opted in. The date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
